Title: Memorial
(Chax keeps feeling an urge to stop thinking about this topic, but he is borne along on his thought processes.)
Chax: If I had not been sent out alone (bitter memory!) things might have gone differently indeed. Aun would have fallen by the blow of my Oistrem partner. If Aun himself had not had some similar moment of mercy, or insight, or stupidity, I would now be dead. There were so many ways that things could have gone differently. STOP
But if it could happen once in thousands of cycles—that out of thousands upon thousands of Strasmin and Oistrem slaying each other, two could be so stupidly merciful or mercifully stupid—could it not happen more than once? STOP
And if there had been a short period of actual peace... could there not be one again? And if so...?
Was even Botaram worth so much blood?
STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP
(The scene shows the spire of Botaram in the distance, with Susekho somewhat closer. From the foreground out to the hills, dead bodies of hundreds of Oistrem and Strasmin lie in heaps, forming a shape that seems to be a figure reaching out to take hold of Botaram's glory...)

This entry is several days late, and I'm no longer sure that the idea was worth the time put into execution. Still, here it stands.
I am still in text mode for the main story line, at least until I get Aun and Chax past their present situation.
Grisues
The “text mode” IF put into full pictures would have this dragged out for panels on panels. This was a worthwhile way to tell this part of Chax story and consistence to how you show his character.

Ah! That’s a very old comment there. It was written at a time when I was composing text entries in lieu of making comic panels and I got way behind. This is part of the mess I need to clean up to complete the story.
Also, welcome to Botaram!
In a bleak alien landscape, two creatures raised from birth to be each other's enemies decide to think instead. One seeks Botaram, a place of high ideals and austere beauty; the other seeks to protect Botaram from being defiled by creatures like the first. An uneasy truce is formed amid heartbreak and broken ties, and through the ashes of their world they search for a truth that may no longer exist, abandoning friends, honor, and perhaps their lives… or worse.

Like Chax, I can't eat chimmer. Please consider buying me a cheese sandwich!
