I don't recall – has Aun learned of the fates of his crechemates (losing an arm and a life, respectively)? If not, their presences in his dream in those states may be due to the same unknown force that allows the ancestors to communicate with the living Strasmin, and the twofold voice of the Craisht to communicate with the Oistrem.
Also, when I saw the final panel, I pumped my fist into the air.
